Gaza, today

Gaza, you think is your unfaithful wife

but tonight, today she writhes

in her blood you don’t wipe

the grammar of the mournful

sugared with a half moon

and wildflower stars quiet in my sky

yours is not mine today

I shook the ocean composed of caramel shells

and houses burn with lips

against windows holding

her crenelated children

stuck like insects somewhere

somewhere I’m not there.
